Scales are generally for measuring the object weight whether it is heavy object or a light weight objects. You can find the scales in almost all the industries. You can find these in lot of varieties at the market. Each scale has different purposes. The varieties of scales found at the market are floor scales, bagging scales, bench scales / platform scales, counting scales, drum fillers and indicators.

Floor scales:

This is helpful when over weight object cannot be lifted for weighing. One kind of floor scale is installed on the ground which is made of steel. You can find various scales which are used according to the weight of the object. As the name indicates this scale is for counting small objects. Industries which produces small objects like coins, screws, nut bolts etc becomes difficult by hand counting. Simple, first weigh a piece of object which is divided by the total amount of weight. This scale gives you an accurate amount of pieces you have on hand.

Bench scales:

These are other wise known as platform scales. These are used by the commercial outlet and by home makers. The best feature of this scale is that they protect the load cell when excess weight is places on the scale. Another merit of the scale is they have a shock absorbing spring which protects the scale if anything is dropped on it.


Indicators:

An indicators help in reading the weight of the object from the scale. These are seen in both digital and non digital scales. If you have indicator on your scale then it give the exact weight of the object.

Drum fillers:

These scales are used for measuring weight of chemicals. The chemicals which are filled in drums are too heavy to lift, so these scales are made out of steel and are fit in the ground. They are fire proof and can weigh more than 1000 lbs at one time.
